Business is a term that is often used in our everyday life. Anyone who sells goods or services is viewed as a business man or woman. But the skills involved in managing different businesses vary. To show why this is true I was told by my lecturer to write a paper on business management. It was a challenge, and I asked my friend, “Who will write my paper for me”? He had no solution so I decided to try to do it on my own. Business consists of two major types: large scale business operators and small scale business operators. Large scale business operators are those that deal in various products that are likely to be found under one roof, for example, the supermarkets and hypermarkets. Small scale business operators are those that deal with small items and stocks. They include small shops, kiosks, hawkers and peddlers, and roadside sellers. In order to deliver a good paper I had to understand the concept of business thoroughly.
Business management is a broad topic which necessitated my getting assistance from somebody who was proficient in the subject matter. I wanted to do it alone as I was personally interested in discovering what made men and women successful in business. A scholar once defined business management as a ‘well laid down structure which involves planning, organizing, informing and coordinating all the business activities between management and the employees’. Therefore to write my paper I had to ensure that all these key terms were well covered in my research. Hence, there was no hope of finding someone to offer meaningful or rather specialized support for free as I earlier thought.
To give a brief overview of these four elements of business management I had to look for help. This was not easy; most of the writers were very expensive to hire and for me to complete the paper was out of my scope. With the aim of beating the deadline I asked one of my classmates if she could help me with the assignment. She then said that she would do the bulk of the work when she had finished with her other commitments. Considering this I saw that relying on her might be futile as she was not sure when she could adequately help me out. This uncertainty would guarantee my failure in the subject.
As planning is considered the first essential element since it involves setting all the activities of the business, it involves formulating rules that govern the business activities, I knew poor planning by a busy service provider will make it impossible to succeed. So I knew this lady writer would not be able to complete the writing of my paper, because she was too busy to provide the service. Improper communication leads to misunderstanding in business operations and results in low output. Thus without these elements of good management, service providers cannot deliver quality work, since both communication and coordination of information are not only involved in the task, but are critical components of the assignment. I decided the only option was to plan to do it myself.
